China Seeks Enhanced Tech Collaboration With India to Boost Bilateral Ties

In a recent diplomatic engagement, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation between China and India, aiming to sustain the positive trajectory in their bilateral ties. This statement was made during his meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, highlighting the mutual desire to enhance relations.

Wang Yi underscored the need for both nations to increase high-level interactions and expand collaborations across various domains, including trade, media, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections. He also advised addressing sensitive issues through dialogue and called for strengthened coordination on regional and international matters. According to him, China and India should join forces to promote multipolarity and advocate for the interests of developing countries on the global stage.

Moreover, Wang reaffirmed China’s support for India’s role in hosting the upcoming BRICS summit, expressing a wish for heightened cooperation within the expanded BRICS framework. This gesture signals Beijing’s commitment to fostering a constructive partnership with New Delhi in multilateral settings.

On the Indian side, Jaishankar reiterated India’s dedication to nurturing a positive and cooperative relationship with China. He reaffirmed India’s well-established stances on sensitive matters related to Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), emphasizing respect for China’s sovereignty.

The meeting between Wang Yi and Jaishankar reflects ongoing efforts by the two Asian giants to stabilize and deepen their ties. This diplomatic dialogue comes in the wake of recent improvements in bilateral relations, signaling both nations’ intent to manage challenges while seeking areas of mutual benefit.
