The crackdown doesn’t stop at Europe. Trump also threatened at least a 25% tariff on imported iPhones, directly challenging Apple to bring manufacturing back to the US or face steep duties. Other smartphone makers could also be affected by this aggressive new policy.
Despite earlier hopes for a negotiated solution, Trump has dismissed the idea of reaching a deal, stating he’s ready to set tariffs unilaterally. This marks a significant escalation in the administration’s approach to international trade.
